The National Office of the Anglican Compassion and Development Initiative (ACADI), led a delegation to visit the Drug Free Club of the Anglican Girls Grammar School (AGGS), Gudu Abuja on 16th Nov, 2022. It would be recalled that during a two days NAWADA sensitization training for school administrators, teachers and school prefects in Abuja diocese, which took place on the 11th and 12th January 2022 at AGGS. During the training, over 100 participants who were in attendance, which include 8 Education Management Board members, School Principals, Vice Principals, Heads of departments, school counsellors, committed to kick-starting a drug free club.
The visit was to further espouse the seriousness of this fight and to encourage the students to be good ambassadors of the club. In his opening remarks, the Chairman of ADACADI, Amb. Raph Onemola challenged the students to desist from anything that would damage their destiny and stand out to be worthy ambassadors. Adding to this, the ACADI National Coordinator Mrs Abiodun Ipinmoye took them on a presentation about the dangers of Drug abuse, the celebrities whose destiny were tarnished through drugs and the need to say no to drugs.
The Coordinator of the club, Mr Christian Elekwachi thanked the team and extended their hands of fellowship on behalf of the Principal of the school and promise to ensure that many students join the club to chart the campaign until it become a wide spread war.
